Re: Favorite Documentaries
One of the best documentaries I’ve ever watched. I never watched the show that often but was familiar enough with it I recognized everyone. His sincerity and pure empathy towards children was simply unmatched by anyone I’ve ever known and totally came thru in this film. He certainly got made fun of a lot, but he was one of a kind. It would’ve been an honor to be called his friend. I gained a lot of respect for him watching this.gardenparty wrote:this was excellentwease wrote:Me too. Do I actually care about watching that doc? Is it actually interesting or are weird people making a big, sentimental hoopla over nothing?

I found it very interesting. There was quite a bit I had no idea about. Like PBS basically being originally funded because of him.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Do I actually care about watching that doc? Is it actually interesting or are weird people making a big, sentimental hoopla over nothing?

Watched King Georges on Hulu last night. It’s about Chef Georges Perrier and the rise and fall of Le-Bec Fin in Philadelphia. I’ve never seen a doc capture the pace and mood of the back of house during dinner service so well. My wife and I were laughing out loud at parts that weren’t really meant to be that funny because it hit so close to home compared to our own restaurant work stories. I recommend watching this. Chef Georges and his crew are very likeable.

Wu Tang Clan’s one on Showtime last month was awesome.
I swear I’ll stop making excuses to talk about Wu Tang after this.
