I interpreted it as if it was intended to be a "$300,000 really isn't that much" chart, but looking at most of those numbers it's more accurate for it to be a "$300,000 really isn't that much if you continuously make terrible decisions with your money" chart.

Maybe it wasn't intended to be either, but it's pretty awful regardless.

I think it's suppose to be "what does middle class behavior cost in the more expensive cities in North America", hence the scaled up cots of everything. There is certainly some overestimation there.

Its not the winners at the top I'm most worried about. It's the losers that conclude they lost because they were cheated and decide to burn down the system that brings so much prosperity, despite most living better than anyone else in history, because they were jealous.

I'm not worried about either of those groups. It's the people who were comfortably in the middle and then, sometimes suddenly, are excluded (i.e. Trump voters) that scare me.

I would just point out that these people aren't actually losers, but rather perceive themselves as losers because others are doing better. And yeah, these are the people that worry me tremendously.
