Gorgeous was his savior sees her...drowning in his wake...

Let me catch my breath to breathe
And reach across the bed
Just to know we're safe
I am a grateful ham

For every choice, mistake I've made, it's not my plan
To send you in the arms of another ham
And if you choose to stay I'll wait, I'll understand

Everyone's a critic looking back up the river
Every boat is leaking in this town
Everybody's thinking that they'll all be delivered
Sitting in a box like lost and found

But I found my place and it's alright
We're all searching for our better ham

From Jennifer Palmieri's book, "Dear Madam President: An Oen Letter to the Women Who Will Run the World"
I decided that on this final Friday of the campaign, I was due thirty-five minutes of uninterrupted time to listen to my favorite playlist of the moment, "Staff Walk On." The "Staff Walk On" playlist was a concept Nick Merrill, our traveling press secretary, and I came up with one plane ride a couple of weeks back. It consists of songs that typified the staff's experience on the trail. It has songs like Queen's "Under PRessure, " Jason Isbell's "24 Frames," Tift Meritt's "Engine to Turn," Springsteen's "Take 'Em As They Come" and even the hopeful "Amongst the Waves" by Pearl Jam."

It was a sparkling fall day and a beautiful drive alongside the Allegheny River into Pittsburgh, I looked out the window. Ignored the e-mails and texts. Replayed "Amongst the Waves" a few times in a row.
