Shadow of the Colossus (PS4)
The remastered version of this PS2 classic came out in February and I’m still working my way through hard time attacks and trophy collecting. Great game, anyone else into this one?

I plan to check it out sometime in the next few months. I didn't love the original as much as most, but I want to give it another shot. Glad you're enjoying it.Jammer XCI wrote:The remastered version of this PS2 classic came out in February and I’m still working my way through hard time attacks and trophy collecting. Haven't played it. How highly would you recommend it?

Extremely highly, but Shadow of the Colossus was likely the final PS2 game I ever bought and played as a teenager so it has tons of nostalgia value for me.
One way to describe this game is that it’s like a grown-up version of a 2000’s Zelda game with a bleak, dark atmosphere and a vibe of crushing loneliness.

I'm three colossi into the new remaster. This game definitely holds a special place in my heart. I love how lonely it is. No random NPCs, no sidequests, just you and your goal. It's extremely haunting.

It is not in any way, shape or form Zelda-esque.Jammer XCI wrote:Extremely highly, but Shadow of the Colossus was likely the final PS2 game I ever bought and played as a teenager so it has tons of nostalgia value for me.

It definitely has some Zelda-like tropes.

Re: Shadow of the Colossus (PS4)
I did a pretty casual play through the game on Normal when I got it and finished that around the end of March, since then I've been working on Hard+ mode and the time attacks, some of these guys (like #11 which I finished last night) are way, way fucking harder even with my boost in stamina and health.
I'm still doing pretty well for that Speed Demon trophy, I'm 2 hours in and the time limit is 5 hours and 41 minutes, I think I can take the last 5 in that time.
