Here's Riot Act. This one drove me a bit nuts to be honest - they never really mastered many of the deep cuts from this album, and then they all but disappeared on future tours (or did in the case of Get Right). Thanks to everyone for the suggestions and comments along the way - I decided Arc should be included, but respect the view to delete it from this set for your own listening if you so wish

FAN-MADE PROJECT - NOT FOR SALE
*Share freely but do not distribute as mp3*
It has been almost 13 years since the Green Habit Compilation was put together by the
Red Mosquito Forum community. As the band has now been together for double that length
of time, an update or sequel to this collection was well overdue. Hundreds of official
bootlegs later (including numerous 'vault' releases from the pre-bootleg era), every
song has been put up for review.
Red Mosquito forum users were invited to nominate and debate their favourite versions
of each song, for me to then go away and listen to each to make a final decision:
http://forums.theskyiscrape.com/viewtop ... =15&t=8556
There were a number of criteria for picking a definitive live version: sound quality,
correct lyrics, no guitar flubs, full band (if that is how the song was recorded in
the studio), electric rather than acoustic (again, if that is how the song was recorded),
and original era/drummer where possible (unless later versions had something really
special). Basically, if you had to represent the essence and power of each song through
one single live version - which would it be?
After a LOT of deliberation, this is what we came up with. Thank you to everyone for
your suggestions and for the discussion to date. This will be a constantly evolving
collection, so will be reviewed as new shows are played or released from the vault.
The best known source for each track has been used, and remastered by JWB only where
required to provide the smoothest possible listening experience.

Beautiful work, thank you!
You definitely picked the right version of Man Of The Hour. I was there in Milano and it literally brought tears to my eyes. Eddie was intense that night.
Looking forward to Avocado - it's one of my favourite records and the band were so tight in 2006 so there are many great versions of these tracks!

Self-titled shortlist below. Not as many suggestions have come in so far for this one, so I've included all the versions picked for Spenno's 'Black Market Avocado' and Lowlight79's 'World Wide Mix 2006' compilations (many of which overlapped).
Do people think 'Of The Earth' belongs on this disc, or on Backspacer's disc? It was recorded in both sessions, and debuted in concert on the Backspacer tour. The only other non-album tracks remaining that I can think of are Santa Cruz (will appear on Backspacer's disc) and Olé (Lightning Bolt session), so perhaps Of The Earth should go on Avocado's disc, giving each album one extra track each?

I agree with Vegas for Inside Job. Dublin '06 is also strong.
Zagreb for Severed Hand is a definite. Hands down the strongest version they've done.
Lisbon II for Army Reserve is hard to beat, in my opinion.

Isn't the sound quality of Of The Earth from Third Man, well, substandard compared to other official releases? Wouldn't that sound disjoint on the disc.

Re: Pearl Jam - Definitive Live Versions (a Green Habit sequ
It is, but sounding a bit disjointed isn’t a huge concern for this project as it is more of an ‘anthology’ of performances that can be listened to in any order/configuration (like say PJ20 soundtrack), rather than a compilation/concert experience (like Live On Two/Three/Ten Legs).CopperTom wrote:Isn't the sound quality of Of The Earth from Third Man, well, substandard compared to other official releases? If it turns out to be the best version, we’ll use it as long as the audio quality is at a decent standard (I have a couple of better rips of Third Man now than what was initially circulating

OTE from London was not so good. It’s the blander version of the track vs Pemberton or Dublin.

The band was really tight on 2006 tour, so there are many great performances of these songs as you guys already mentioned.

Zagreb SH is great, but I think I want to use one with a guitar intro, rather than the album loop. Melbourne has this and is as good IMO, and I think has a better Mike's solo at the end.
Lisbon II is good too, but I want to use a version where Ed doesn't talk over the intro.

Re: Pearl Jam - Definitive Live Versions (a Green Habit sequ
I've settled on versions for all album tracks now - which just leaves 'Of The Earth'.
I've going back and forth between Pemberton 2016 and Dublin 2010. Correct lyrics are obviously less of an issue for this one (I'm not sure Ed even knows what they are yet) but Dublin seems to have more variety in the verses. Musically Pemberton sounds very focused and tight, but Dublin has more swagger and is pretty darn tight for a debut.
Thoughts?...
Edit: Just listened to Third Man version again and even more confused - it really is a great version, and the sounds quality isn't as bad as I first thought...

I’m a big fan of the TMR version. The back and forth between Jack and Mike is really great.
Does anyone know how good the quality of the rip is? And which one is the best?
