Is it me or does Dave sound a little like Chris Cornell in this?

He denies all and is happy to go to court to prove it. Though the other guy does have some pretty specific details about what Boyd might have done.

I haven’t heard anything about this. What did Boyd (allegedly) do?

Finished reading that whole article. If true, what a creepy guy. If all this happened on that long of a timeframe and level, there have got to be other similar stories too. And now he’s officially out of the band, sooo not looking so good for Boyd. Sad and gross.

I’m kinda in love with the new song called Samurai Cop. It’s the only song from the new album that I’ve heard, but I can’t stop listening to it.

I think the vocals and lighter production is really quite good as I have been enjoying it as well. The album has its moments in my opinion but the production is pretty horrendous overall with absolutely zero flow after a few listens.

I’m excited to listen to more of the album whenever I get a chance. My expectations are fairly low, and Samurai Cop actually already exceeded them. If I find another couple of songs that I really dig, I’ll be happy.

Also the disjointed production you mentioned was at least partially by design as they used several producers on the album, all of which worked on separate songs. I haven’t listened to anything other than Samurai Cop still, so I’m not sure how I’ll feel about that decision, but that is the clear reason for production differences throughout the album.

Indeed, it was interesting as I guessed each producer as I was listening to my first run through in the car (liner notes :hooray: ) and the decision to let this out as the final product is mind boggling to me. Granted there has been some turmoil in the DMB camp for a while but this release seems exorbitantly lazy.

I think like pretty much all their albums, there’s 3 to 5 very good tracks mixed in with a bunch of mediocre stuff. That Girl Is You is the winner so far.
