Sunday morning I was up at 3:45 AM, so I watched Mom and Dad Save the World, Citizen Kane, and The Great Race back to back.

Loved season 1, but the overuse of cutting back and forth between plots (and even characters talking) in season 2 made it hard to watch.jwfocker wrote:Just started season 2 of The Expanse. It's so god damn good.

"The Terror" has been a great watch so far. Really interested to see how close the end will be to the book.

Re: What are you currently watching on TV?
Sad to see New Girl end. Though, I do think, much like Parks and Recreation, the final season was unnecessary. It contain of the series' absolute best episodes, though. So I'm not upset about it. But they really could have just ended it with the S6 finale and much would have stayed the same.
The actual finale was pretty good, though. I laughed and was moved a couple of times. As far as series finales go it was middle of the road. But the journey was so, so great. I'm going to miss it.

It ran out of gas for me around season 3 or so. I think season 4 was as far as I got.

It's certainly hit/miss. But most of S5 is excellent. The S5 finale is pure joy. Season six definitely showed some real wear and tear. But the finale was good enough to be the series finale. The show, for me, began to work best when it let itself be completely absurd.BurtReynolds wrote:It ran out of gas for me around season 3 or so. I think season 4 was as far as I got.
Not that my take on anything means a good goddamn to you. Just saying.

It doesn't, but the first two or three seasons are funny, I agree.

Again, irrelevant, but I thought S3 started poorly and I was worried about the show. But it recovered quickly and the second half is awesome.BurtReynolds wrote:It doesn't, but the first two or three seasons are funny, I agree.

Re: What are you currently watching on TV?
The Middle wrapped up for good tonight. I admit; I am going to miss that little show.
New Girl was consistently up & down but when it was good it was pretty great. Really good cast chemistry; the Nick & Schmidt interplay was especially strong. I like Damon Wayans Jr but Lamorne Morris was a better fit in the long run.
