Done, spoilered. Do you feel the character of Han Solo is deepened by this story?dimejinky99 wrote:Might wanna spoiler any reviews like that until after the weekend at least.

How do you deepen a character when you’re telling a story about him as a younger man?
This film does it. In spades. Shows you he is the good guy. But also shows how he becomes so hardened and almost cynical.
I understand him coming back to help Luke make that shot on the Death Star 100% more now.

I'd say nice addition. But I loved it.
I'm seeing more typical critical reviews on this one. No surprises there. It's become the uber cool-nerd thing to dislike these new movies. There are a few people I encounter in my life regularly and it's exhausting to hear them go on about the movies in such a negative way. I especially hate when they're start their sentences with "My problem with (movie title here) is.." or "What they did wrong with...". Sigh. Some of these people are still going on about TLJ. Seriously, I get that you don't like it and I respect that. But, stop going on about it.
None of the Star Wars movies are perfect. Some are just far more enjoyable to watch than others. Each of the new ones have been an entertaining couple of hours for me and that's all I expect.
This move felt like a Star Wars movie and it was fun. The actors were well cast. I think Woody shone in his role and the casting for Solo was pretty spot on. Chewie and Han's chemistry was great.

This thread is already exhausting. I can’t believe someone quoted fucking Chris Stuckman unironically.

I enjoyed the hell out of this. It’s absolutely not essential, it’s absolutely entertaining though.
Cast was pretty spot on and Howard was the perfect Director.

No lightsabers, no force just a whole lot of fun!
I really enjoyed this movie. Not sure where it ranks yet.
It also felt like there will be a sequel to it..

Also, if you told me Dave Filoni wrote me directed this, I would have no trouble at all believing it. Look and feels and moves like Rebels. The Acton the way headshots were framed but also almost the entire story. Perfect fit for the period it’s set in.
