I actually think that of all the back stories they may opt to flesh out, this one stands the chance of paying the highest dividends provided that the execution is great...

Boba Fett was this iconic character when I was 7 because he looked so dang cool. But over the years I've realized there's not really much to him. His death in ROJ is super anti-climactic, and the whole "copy of a Boba" thing in the prequels further devalued his character's currency. But if they were to do an origin story and really nail it, all that stuff could take on a new significance.

He had a literal origin story in the prequels!

The best thing they could with Boba Fett is turn him into a Dread Pirate Roberts kind of character. The suit changes ownership. The person inside changes and the legend is passed from person to person.

Ok so not spoiling anything but thinking on it and there’s endless ways this is connected to Solo and they’re Marvelising it with storylines across films.

Almost sure to be happening in that time period and not post ROTJ

There’s already massive outcry on Twitter fans saying they have to get tamura Morrison to play him. And complaining yet another white male writer / Director.
Unless they do that or he never takes the helmet off in the film this is potentially a nightmare for Lucasfilm.
