Now being spearheaded by none other than Collider.
One of them spoke up for the boycotters today. Hopefully she was unaware the entire movement was born out of misogyny and racism against Kelly Marie tran.
But they’re going whichever way the wind blows. As are most outlets.
Negative hot takes = clicks = revenue.

Appalling.

Me either. I didn't really enjoy Solo, but damn right Ill go see everyone of these they make. Except Obi Wan. Cuz now it can't do anything but disappoint.

I don't think I buy the star wars fatigue argument. The movies just aren't connecting with as many people.

It was fine. Not great, not bad either. Just a fun action movie. I didn't buy Ehrenreich as Han Solo at all. Glover and Woody were awesome. I hated L3 and Rio. Loved the train sequence.

Also loved:
Spoiler: show
Darth. Fucking. Maul. I was thinking just before his appearance that this might be the first Star Wars film with no light saber. Didn't like the way they forced the igniting of the saber though.
1. A New Hope
2. The Force Awakens
3. The Empire Strikes Back
4. Return of the Jedi
5. The Phantom Menace
6. The Last Jedi
7. Solo
8. Revenge of the Sith
9. Rogue One/Attack of the Clones (tie)

There was a mounting movement from a section of the fan-base to boycott Solo -- specifically by not seeing it opening weekend -- as a way to communicate to Lucasfilm that they are unhappy with the direction Disney has taken their beloved franchise and they need to make some major changes or face the monetary consequences.

If you're talking about Perri Nimeroff, you're way off base. She did not speak up for the boycott. She explicitly says she doesn't agree with them and thinks it's absurd and unfair to try and attack someone else's enjoyment of something simply because your own enjoyment is all that matters. However, she does say that they have a right to speak up, even if she disagrees with them. And she's right about that.

So given it’s being considered a failure, will a sequel be made? I like the idea of a gritty relatively low budget film that takes place almost entirely on Tatooine.

Was it ever planned to make sequels to the standalones? Aren't they supposed to...stand alone?
