Welp. It's interesting to me that i felt more empathy for Liberace and his boy toy than i did for any of the soldiers in Dunkirk, but there you have it

Odd comp. I haven't seen the former but I can't imagine their goals are at all common.

was just reflecting on comments that were shared on RM re: Dunkirk. Yeah, obviously very different stories/visions, but at face value i'd expect to be more emotionally moved by the story about brave young men losing their lives in a foreign land than by the story about a flamboyant pianist and his kept man...

i was just trying to make a point about the directors.

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I've always heard how bad John Wayne's The Conqueror was....yeah it earned its reputation. Land Of The Lost was better....kinda slow but the location filming was beautiful. Gonna watch Circus World next. Those are the three Wayne movies I always meant to watch but never did.

Hellraiser III: Hell On Earth.

I liked the backstory of Pinhead, the way the tie this sequel with part 2, the brief appearance of Kristy...but its a clear intent to transform Pinhead into Freddy. Most of the acting is horrible, a constant in this series but here its really,really bad, and the one liners are terrible..¨ready for your closeup? ¨ There are no demons..no? so what the fuck is that? ...And more stuff like that. I hated the new cenobites. They are awful really.

With all that, its still a strong entry for sure. Loved some of the framing, specially everything involved with Pinhead.

The best part of Secret of the Incas was getting to watch Yma Sumac perform. My god she was incredible.
