I know it's different - but (to my ears) the verse has a similar feel to the verse of Hope by REM. Of course Michael Stipe's eyebrows don't merge into his hairline every time he emphasises a syllable and he doesn't pull his head away from the mic 21 times a minute.

I'd be cool with a Springsteen model, where there's no opener but they invite lots of people onstage. I especially enjoy when an artist comes on and collaborates on a PJ song. Like at PJ20 when the guests came on and helped them out on a few songs. If they played a longer set, and gave Ed's throat a rest while someone like Brian Fallon sings lead on a tune or two, that'd be fun.

That song always reminded me of Leonard Cohen's "Suzanne"

You so silly. I do think it will be better than the past two efforts. Again, that is me being opitomistic. Avocado is my least favorite so far. I enjoy backspacer but rarely look to it when I'm in the mood for something of substance
