2013 song tournament A: Thejambi Wins!

OK, listenned to all these and I must say that I enjoyed them all. Some good use of tunes throughout and was fun to revisit this stuff.

Kurt Leon vs Ilpazo. There was nothing at all separating the song choices for me between these two teams but I felt that Ilpazo's flow worked for me far better in the end. That run of the last 4 songs was particularly fantastic.

Chud vs oasisfan. This was a close one for me also, and again there was nothing at all separating the actual songs chosen between the teams for me. The flow of the mix is what won this for chud imo, with the last 3 song run sealing the deal. Fwiw using my scoring system oasisfan's team would have won any other match-up in this set.

It's Not 1974 vs WtOB. Overall I prefered WtOB's song choices and flow here. Having your mix bookkended by a pair of 5 star tunes is pretty sweet.

Speeno vs Doc. Again 2 great mixes, both really enjoyable listens. Doc's flow was fantastic (not that spenno's was poor) and the opening run of All or None --> Smile --> Alive (all 5 star by me) had me thinking that Doc had this in the bag at first. In the end though spenno's overall song choices were the difference, his Speed of Sound managing 1 point from me compared to a big fat donut for Doc's Parachutes. Interestingly, for mine, Spenno had only one 5 star song in his mix to Doc's 3, but he had a run of 4 star songs that swayed me.

Oceans to Brain of J is really cool. Reminds me of Sometimes to Hail,hail which is my favorite opening to a album. I almost tried the samething. I was gonna start mine Fatal in to Blood.

Sorry the gaps ended up longer than I thought in mine. I'm pressed for time (wedding in a week, house hunting, current home improvements and its the busy season at work) so I am unable to redo it.

Listened to a couple playlists today while working . One is better than I thought it would be based on the songs chosen. Ill catch up on some more tonight while painting the deck.

LW is one i didnt realize there was a lot of hate for here, it is up and down for me but its usually last for me out of it, WWS and severed hand, but i think its a good song, and one that i was planning on drafting in the 9th or 10th round if it had been there.
