What's he going to be like come September?
i don't know, but this is what i'm worried about.

j.d. jr can "miraculously" win games with a bat, but a bullpen that doesn't create tie-games in the 7th, 8th, 9th inning is what makes my ticker sleep easy. get on it ben!

Im glad they won the last two games, but that Astros series was BRUTAL. All 3 of those games ended past midnight and none of them went extra innings.

So this is the point where the Sox, after losing some tough games, need to step it up (again). They've been doing this all season long - should be interesting to see if they can keep it up.

the team desperately needs more right-handed hitting and the D at third should remain solid. i'll be most excited when Ross returns to the line-up.

I cant believe Salty playing everyday hasnt been more of a problem. Also, what does it say about Lavarnway that they have chosen to play Salty(who is universally hated by all Sox pitchers) every day with Ross out?

it says they dont think he's major league caliber, if he was even close to even with Salty they would play Lavarnway.

are we talking all-around (hitting & catching) or just catching? i'd say there's no doubt who the better major league hitter is, but behind the plate, it could be a conversation.

right. i think they're comparable as catchers, but as hitters JS helps the team more than RL.

Agreed, I just think it's interesting that Lavarway went from catcher of the future to bum in a year.

well i think the signing of david ross was the writing on the wall that lavarnway wasn't considered anything worth investing in (depending on).
