Briefly (Fungus Amongus and SCIENCE). Even then, it was maybe closer to funk metal?

Re: Were They Nu-Metal?
Basically what LV said, though I’d include Make Yourself as nu metal too.
I nominate Glassjaw. They’re kind of nu, kind of post hardcore, kind of emo. The new album is basically metalcore.

No, Glassjaw is not nu metal and never has been. Too technical, no hip-hop elements.

Based on the one song of theirs I know and a quick Google Image Search, I will say yes, definitelyverb_to_trust wrote:What about Coal Chamber?

A lot of it is the rattly bass sound.
To LV's point: I will argue that a hip-hop influence isn't a requirement for nu-metal, though some of its biggest bands definitely have it

Then we’re in agreeance on that one.LoathedVermin72 wrote:NoJammer XCI wrote:Deftones after 2003?
How about post grunge like Breaking Benjamin and Seether? Their early stuff is very nu IMO.

Nu Metal > Post-Grunge was a pretty loose transition, yeah.
