This last week TLJ producer and Rian Johnson’s working partner said thaT Rians trilogy is in early stages and 2020. He didn’t specify it that was release date for the first one or start of filming.

Be interested to know if those ones will be summer or Christmas releases

I hope all future SW films are in December. They own it. But if they want to expand, I think they'll have the opportunity as long as other HUGE blockbusters aren't slated.

We won't see SW go up against Marvel again, for example.

I’m pretty sure Solo was put there just to test the waters on summer releases. I would have said previously they couldn’t be seen to push it back once L&M were fired cos optics. it would look like crisis behind the scenes when it probably wasn’t but media would say so anyways.

I think they’ll stick with Christmas.

It could Well be Rians films Wrexham for their new Star Wars streaming service. Films are being made specifically for that platform as with the Netflix model.

Although saying that, it sounds more like the GOT guys films would go there rather than rians

Originally, I kind of assumed Dan & Dave's movies would be for the streaming platform and Rian's for theatrical release. Given all that's happened, I certainly wouldn't be surprised if that's no longer the case.

Could well be. Iger did say there’d be series and films made for the platform.

Not that long ago Collider were talking about this very thing saying cinemas will soon be challenged by studios releasing direct to home streaming services.

Plus side and it’s a huge plus, nothing and I mean nothing makes me happier than sitting in a theatre and seeing those magical words in blue come up in silence and that quiet 2 seconds before that WHAM and fanfare....also plus side if they started doing that, everyone everywhere can see the film at the same time..no delays of days for regions.
AND you can watch the damn thing again right after!! In your own home!

Downside, people in theatres. And
