I've been finishing the bonus levels of Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze. Fun game. Difficult, but fair.

I loved Doom, so maybe Wolfenstein is the way to go.
Do the Metal Gear games still have an hour of cut scenes per minute of game play? Would I like V?

You might like V. It's pretty much all stealth, if you can get into that. I recommend at least trying it. It blew my mind. It's very cheap now.guestT wrote:I loved Doom, so maybe Wolfenstein is the way to go.

Re: What are you playing?
V is a bit lighter on the cutscenes, but the intro is like an hour of no gameplay.

Re: What are you playing?
I really liked Mad Max and would give it my recommendation. No real crafting to speak of, just basic car/weapon/armor upgrades paid for with the in-game resource (scrap) and ability upgrades (achieved through gameplay). Scrap is a little tough to come by early in the game but you can use a few exploits to get enough and once you open a zone up you just earn it automatically. After the first couple of hours i was never low on scrap for anything i needed. Really satisfying melee and car combat.guestT wrote:I basically don't want to do any crafting or foraging for sticks and rocks. I own Horizon and put 3-4 hours into it. It's not for me.tree_ wrote:Yeah, I recommend Horizon. I rented it for a couple days and liked it quite a bit. Anybody want to let me borrow their copy?Monkey_Driven wrote:Horizon's crafting is pretty minimal. I don't think I ever had to grind to find items. Just killed dinosaurs and collected the rewards.guestT wrote:What's a good PS4 game for someone who like to punch, kick and shoot things in a (mostly) open world environment but hates crafting shit, casting spells and dying a lot?
good: Uncharted Series, Last of Us, GTA, Doom, FPS with good campaigns
bad: Horizon, Far Cry Primal, Bloodborne, online multiplayer shit
Mad Max looks like it would be up my alley, but reviews are mixed...
Have you played Shadow of Mordor? That might be up your alley as well, though some of the uruk captain fights can be frustrating (and rewarding).

Hmm, Mad Max is sounding better and better. I think I do have a digital copy of Shadow of Mordor. Can't remember why I bailed on it. I should give it another try.mf wrote:I really liked Mad Max and would give it my recommendation. Re: What are you playing?
The Mordor games have pretty much the same fighting mechanics as Mad Max but they're much better.

Anyone remember The Mark of Kri? That game was incredible. Super violent combat with Disney graphics.

Hell yeah. I'd love a remake combo'd with the sequel.

I didn't really care for the volcano bubblegum lava level in Super Mario Odyssey. It annoyed me for some reason.

I'm on that now on my new play-through. It's one of my favorites! So colorful and the characters are great. I love swimming around as lava guy and you can be hammer turtle again!bada wrote:I didn't really care for the volcano bubblegum lava level in Super Mario Odyssey. It annoyed me for some reason.

I want there to be a Mario Odyssey 2 so bad. Get nuts with it (similar to Galaxy 2). Maybe that is why there was no new levels in the DLC.

A new one would be superfluous. DLC levels should happen.Monkey_Driven wrote:I want there to be a Mario Odyssey 2 so bad. Get nuts with it (similar to Galaxy 2). Maybe that is why there was no new levels in the DLC.

Did you not play Galaxy 2? That game is an all-timer.tree_ wrote:A new one would be superfluous. DLC levels should happen.Monkey_Driven wrote:I want there to be a Mario Odyssey 2 so bad. Get nuts with it (similar to Galaxy 2). Maybe that is why there was no new levels in the DLC.
