Got one at Target. Got an SNES off Amazon. Have every intention of using Haxchi to add games. Anyone else done this?

i think it was just a video off youtube iirc. probably this one

it's dead simple though. just download the hakchi software and get your roms all together. add cover art as needed. then you just plug in the system, it backs up the factory install, creates it's own and then you just pick and choose your ROMs. the software is pretty intelligent and will generally recognize if there is a known issue with the ROM and won't let you install it. i don't think i've encountered any yet that didn't work. i've done it 3 or 4 times for friends without issue.

Yeah, it was! Just finished Mega Man. I can’t believe I once did this without save states.

When you download roms, type in something like “nes no intro rom set.” Once you get your set, type in “USA” and move those to your final folder. From there, separately type in “beta,” “rev,” and “proto.” Delete any of those except the games that have the word revenge in them, like snake’s revenge.

All you need to do for box art is right click and download. Google will do the rest.

I was playing Actraiser last night and it was as great as I remember. There's some serious menu stuff in there - why do you make me go through so many steps to fry the villagers with lightning?!? - but it's still awesome.

I put Sim City on there because my son likes Minecraft so I'm going to show him that later.

Once I get a spare minute I'm totally going to hack my NES and SNES to add more games.

One problem I had was curating a good group of games. I don't want all of them, but certainly the ones I used to own plus a few others that were either rare at the time or are well regarded and might fit my tastes now more than they did back then.
