I have a pair of Adidas warm-up pants that I've had for almost ten years; they're still in excellent shape and are insanely comfortable. Despite the fact that I've gotten steadily fatter over the years, the elastic in these pants has remained intact and functional, which is golden in this type of attire; I've lost far too many beloved pairs of athletic pants due to bad elastic.
This is closest connection I can make to one of these songs. I really just don't like either of these bands at all. But I love those pants. So, vote for Korn.

ADIDAS: Not a fan of this song. Pretty boring.
In the End: LP has always irritated me. I don't like the rapping, singing, or turntables. I appreciate this song, though.
Going with In the End for its better structure and lyrics.

I think ADIDAS has some of Davis’s best lyrics. A really honest and unflinching look at his sex addiction, and how empty and alone it makes him feel.

Our standards for great lyrics are very, very different.LoathedVermin72 wrote:I think ADIDAS has some of Davis’s best lyrics. A really honest and unflinching look at his sex addiction, and how empty and alone it makes him feel.
Screwing may be, the only way that I can truly be free
From my fucked up reality
So I dream and stroke it harder cause it's so fun to see
My face staring back at me
Honest lyrics do not great lyrics make. Of course I lack the context to assess whether they're among Davis's greatest, which they may well be.

Yeah these lyrics are atrocious. I don't think any song that opens with the filler-line "Honestly somehow it always seems" could be called good, no matter what followed

Please note that I did not say they were great lyrics. I said they were some of Davis’s best. He is not a good lyricist.
And they’re certainly much better than the whiny loser lyrics of In the End.

There’s some Linkin Park song from their later albums where he’s screaming “put me out of my fucking misery” over and over, that one is unfortunately hilarious. It’s like the “I Hate Myself and I Want to Die” of Linkin Park’s catalog.

Re: R1: A.D.I.D.A.S. vs. In the End
I have a hard time finding anything enjoyable about Linkin Park's music. The music and production feel too clean, while the vocals and lyrical content seem forced and artificial (which obviously isn't true, given Chester's fate, but that's how it comes across). "A.D.I.D.A.S." once again has Korn exploring some interesting textures within a bit of an oddly structured song. So, I guess that means Korn takes this one pretty easily for me.

Can we talk about how when the word "pimp" comes up in the lyrics, the ADIDAS video shows a very brief shot of a black man dressed as a stereotypical pimp? The more I move through these threads, the more I think the videos were the actual highlight of the nu-metal era.
Also, did this song inspire anyone else's middle school to include the urban legend about "Do you know what Adidas stands for?" It came up whenever someone wore Adidas clothes of sneakers (went to a Catholic school with uniforms, so this actually wasn't very often).
