Really? I think the "An undertow of futures laid to waste" line is fantastic.
actually that is a really good line, but it gets buried in the lines that surround it

Actually, the other day I found myself thinking it would be enjoyable to listen to The Fixer again sometime.

Should we do a "Let's Actually Listen to The Fixer" thread?

Let's do it. But I can't find my CD and I don't have any clean MP3s of it.

The wording in this is clumsy, but I love the sentiment of someone being so great that it's impossible to love them enough:

'I just want to hold on and know I'm worth your love,
Enough, I don't think there's such a thing'.

Medals on a wooden mantle
Next to a handsome face.
That the president took for granted
Writing checks, that others pay.

Maybe it's just because I was sent to Iraq as a reservist in 2003, but those have always been some of my favorite lines.

I find it too weird that he's refering to himself in third person  He does it on a different song too, In My Tree maybe? Though that bridge in mostly undecipherable.
I'm certain he doesn't do it on In My Tree. That's just fans taking an undecipherable bit and making up really stupid words.

PJ's website takes its lyrics straight from fansites. Those are riddled with mistakes.
