Re: Elvis Costello
Do we know what style this new one is supposed to be? How much RAWK are we allowed to expect?

Re: Elvis Costello
The presence of the Imposters makes it seem unlikely that at least some rocking would not occur.

Re: Elvis Costello
This is what I suspect, as well. I just hope it's less Americana focused and more electric guitar focused.Kevin Davis wrote:The presence of the Imposters makes it seem unlikely that at least some rocking would not occur.

Re: Elvis Costello
I really like the new song "Unwanted Number"! Not very rawking but a cool, funky, soulful tune.

Re: Elvis Costello
"Under Lime" has been released on Spotify and it is VERY GOOD. Some Imperial Bedroom-era sounds, but feels more focused and cohesive.

New Look Now song has been released
This album is shaping up to be very very good. Love the orchestration and the backup singers throughout

Re: Elvis Costello
If I can get there in time. I'm done working at 6, gotta change then catch an Uber out to the Festival. Beck is scheduled to go on at 8:45, so hopefully they'll be running late, but I've heard they were strict to the 10 PM curfew last night because it is in a park with a lot of surrounding neighborhoods.evenslow wrote:you gonna see him?E.H. Re: Elvis Costello
So the setlist online for last night is:
Pump It Up
Miracle Man
Clubland
Radio Radio
(I Don't Want to Go to) Chelsea
Lipstick Vogue
Watching the Detectives
Green Shirt
Waiting for the End of the World
Beyond Belief
I Want You
(What's So Funny 'bout) Peace, Love and Understanding
(Brinsley Schwarz cover)
I don't remember Green Shirt or Clubland, but I had to move around a lot because there were a lot of assholes in the crowd, so I might have been irritated and walking. Also, I'm not as familiar with his catalog as a lot of you, so who knows. The whole band sounded really great, but was hard to enjoy because of so many wankers.
