Re: The Office
I thought some of that was a bit off the mark. But most of it worked for me given her reluctance to change throughout the series and the fact that Jim lied to her.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Her being insane about moving out of Scranton and giving Jim shit for workingdurdencommatyler wrote:What made you post this?LoathedVermin72 wrote:Ugh now Pam sucks too. It's not my favorite part of the season by any means but it felt consistent with the Pam we've watched all along so I couldn't be mad at the choices, even as I disliked watching some of it unfold.

Re: The Office
I have never, ever understood it when characters give their partners grief over work, and it always make me instantly hate the character.

I agree with where you're coming from. Especially in real life. I wasn't on Pam's side through that necessarily but I can still empathize with her point of view. And it was consistent with the character we followed the entire time.

Re: The Office
I totally empathize with Pam in that whole situation. I've always been extremely turned off by the idea of just packing up and moving wherever the wind blows just because of a damn job. If my wife took a job at some startup with her college friends and didn't tell me about it until it was too late, and then hastily invested $10,000 of our family money in it, and then expected me to pull double duty at home before eventually uprooting my life just to be closer to this job that she lied to me about, I don't think I'd be especially gracious about it either. He handled that whole thing like an asshole -- moving back to Scranton for a year was a small purgatory to endure.
That said, I agree that the last season is the weakest. The show unravels without a Michael Scott or a Robert California.

Re: The Office
To echo an earlier sentiment...Carrell should have gotten an Emmy during his run. And his last non-cameo episode was one of the better send offs for a cast regular in any sitcom.

Re: The Office
The real issue is that both Pam and Jim are completely insufferable when they are happy.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.
