"Re-Arranged" seems very boring and plodding at first, but I've been coming around to it a bit.
That said, FOAL is immortal.

Ooom da bop

Korn times infinity in this round, and ReArranged was probably the Bizkit Boys' finest moment.

Boy, I was ready for "Re-Arranged" to be the first Limp Bizkit song I voted for, because I actually kind of like it. Cool bassline, cool vibe, a melody that actually kind of goes somewhere, cool climax. But "Freak on a Leash" is one of a handful of KoRn songs that not only do I really like, but also feel very emblematic of the genre.

Haven’t voted for Korn yet, and not about to now.

Am I just now getting the joke that LV put all Korn songs up against LB songs? Lol.

This was not intentional and I regret not randomizing the seedsE.H. Ruddock wrote:Am I just now getting the joke that LV put all Korn songs up against LB songs? Lol.

At least now we know that KoRn > Limp Bizkit. It's like RM's very own nu-metal West Side Story in here.

I'm surprised how many times I've voted for the Bizkit boys in this tournament. I think I've gone from thinking they were the worst band that ever existed to thinking they were actually one of the better nu-metal/post-grunge bands.
I think they have a more distinct hip-hop influence element which is more appealing to me than the Slipknot/Mudvayne stuff.
Vote for BB.

Re: R1: Freak on a Leash vs. Re-Arranged
This completely captures my feelings here as well. I kept waiting for "Re-Arranged" to pop up because it would be the one time I voted for Limp. This is such a different song for them, and I enjoyed it when it came out. But "Freak on a Leash" feels like THE song from this era. It's the first thing that comes to mind when i think nu-metal. I can't vote against it. It's really good.theplatypus wrote:Boy, I was ready for "Re-Arranged" to be the first Limp Bizkit song I voted for, because I actually kind of like it. Easy vote for Freak on a Leash.
I'd never heard that Limp Bizkit song before but it didn't do much for me.

Korn, easily. I rememeber that video. I'd vote for anything against that Limp Bizkit song simply bc of the way he was holding the microphone - so cool.

Both of these songs could have gone far with different match ups.

I kinda like this LB song too, it might be my favorite of the tournament thus far. FOAL has always seemed like it was the standard for which all music of this genre was judged. This would’ve been a worthy final, if there was such a thing. Vote for LB, what the hell.

Re: R1: Freak on a Leash vs. Re-Arranged
"Re-Arranged" is definitely one of Limp Bizkit's better songs, if not their best. A nice groove, a less obtrusive and more focused performance from Fred. All the parts actually feel like they fit together properly. It's in a tough match against what is probably Korn's most iconic song.
During the brief time that I was into Korn, "Freak on a Leash" was great. Listening to it now, I find it less impressive than some of their other material, and see it as the turning point for when they began to polish their sound and strip away the little eccentricities that made their early songs somewhat interesting. It still goes pretty hard in the chorus, though, and the scat section that makes up the extended bridge is still pretty neat.
Korn's going to win, and right now I'm feeling "Re-Arranged" a little more, so that's the way I'm going.
