Pearl Jam marathon

Post by dimejinky99 »

We all have wives kids jobs dogs lives.

But has anyone ever sat down and listened to all pjs studio records back to back?no lost dogs or any of that. Just the canon. (Well, maybe do them after)
Lord of the rings Star Wars godfather..you can Binge watch these. But have you binge listened? I don’t think I have.

I’m gonna do this tomorrow. Let’s do it and take notes.

I know I did this before Lightning Bolt came out. But I can't remember if I've done it since.

I definitely won't be able to do this tomorrow. But I'll tune into this thread and read about how it's going.

Big time envy. I would love to do this but I wouldn’t promise I would have the patience.

In a not so related note, I ran the Philadelphia Marathon in 2015 and listened to the entirety of the 10/31/09 philly bootleg while I did it.

If you added Lost Dogs, Merkinball and Rearviewmirror I would call it an ultra marathon.

I thought this was going to be a Pearl Jam-themed running marathon benefiting the Home Shows.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Hey don’t think free time is a benefit. Loneliness and alcoholism are two horrible bastards that make you look for hope in the only place you ever could find it. In this case Pearl Jam.

Just two things happened at once. Sitting flicking through yield listening to given to fly but then you’re like, I have to listen to wishlist.. then Flicked over to Vs and daughter. But you can’t have daughter without go animal daughter and dissident.

remembered a story about o brien having a rule that when he goes into a new pj record he listens to the last song on the last one. The. Plays it into the new one. So I wanted to see how does it work.

The National I love but their records if you play them on shuffle which I do. Often. Are quiet loud quiet loud really loud quiet quiet

This is drunk bullshit. You probably should have never responded. But it’s a good idea too.

The first 6 or 7 years are the most jarring.

I would never be able to do this. However, 80% of their catalog works best in pairs. Binaural/Riot Act with accompanying b-sides and Lost Dogs is the best example of this. Vs./Vitalogy, No Code/Yield, and Backspacer/LB pair well and actually enhance each other. Ten and Avocado feel like standalones. I sure hope #11 is not “a logical extension” of their most recent era.

I did this with an old friend on a long daytrip drive to and from San Antonio once. We were well on our way back home when "Off He Goes" kicked in. At that point we both knew without saying that the trip was an attempt to recapture something that had died long before.
