I don't want to get too far into it in this thread, but the mis-characterization of L3 by the haters is hilarious to me. And, again, just like with Rose and Rey and others, plays into the inherent male bias/misogyny rampant in society. Dude-Bros are so threatened that they have to attack a fucking robot? Seriously? The fact these insecure men automatically call her a "Fembot" or the like is a perfect illustration. It's hilarious how that's the first place they go when the implications are far larger. Maybe if a male actor had voiced the character. But alas...

Rose meeting Finn is the funniest scene in TLJ. I looked up a top ten funny moments from TLJ and this wasn’t listed, but none of those mentioned were all that funny. Those guys main complaint on twitter and reddit etc is white men are being forced out and it’s all a sjw agenda and women are taking over. That discussion was dissected from that thread and made into its own thread. Why? That hasn't, to my knowledge, ever happened in any of these other Star Wars discussions. And the new thread wasn't simply called "Rose Tico" or "Who is the Worst Star Wars Character" or something similar. Focus was given specifically to her and why the character sucks, and it felt really icky.

I split off the conversation because there was 2 pages of complaining about the character. I figured the debate could continue on it's own outside of the The Last Jedi thread. God knows it gets a lot of discussion on the Internet in general.

I named it with a tongue-in-cheek reference to Vinyl's post that started the discussion. I don't care what it's named.

Also, splitting threads is hardly new to RM. Hell, most of my splits are in the Star Wars forum b/c dime can't hold a thought in his head while posting about The Star Wars.
