Watched How it Ends last night. This movie seemed a little confused as to what it wanted to be.

Meant to ask you! What we do in the shadows is getting a tv series?!?!
That could be brilliant. What do you think?
Wellington Paranormal started last week. Focusing around the police from What we do in the Shadows - it was alright. Few funny moments

I saw Skyscraper this morning and it was absolutely ridiculous. My god movies have been stupid this year.

Can someone please recommend me some Sci-Fi? I enjoy shit like:

Moon
Sunshine
2001
Inception
The Martian
Interstellar
Equilibrium
The Matrix
Prometheus
Alien: Covenant
Annihilation

I think 'Arrival' looks okay. I might check that one out.

Arrival is fine. Have you seen Event Horizon or Pandorum? Those are both really great.

I'm on the fence about watching Event Horizon. I've seen the scene with the footage of the crew having a blood orgy and found it quite disturbing.

I enjoyed Pandorum, and have been trying to remember its name for a little while. Thanks!

Some others I enjoyed but forgot to mention:

Alien
Logan's Run
The Fifth Element
Children of Men
Serenity (and Firefly)
Pitch Black

I need to see:

Abyss
Cube
Dark City
Gattaca
Contact
Arrival

Ex Machina was badass. Dark City is on the list. I need to see Blade Runner 2049. I don't know why I've held off for so long. Maybe I'm worried that my expectations are too high and I'll end up disappointed.

Contact is so much better than Event Horizon that I can't even fathom that any actual human could have a different opinion. And Contact is just okay.

Jodie Foster was awful in that. Not sure what's not to like about Event Horizon though. Was it too scary?

It wasn't scary at all. I wish it had been scary.

And there's no way, as wonky as Foster is in that film, that she's worse than Jack Noseworthy or Sam Neill or anyone not named Lawrence Fishburne.

I guess we can add Sam Neill to the list of actors you inexplicably hate
