One-hit wonders, egregiously so.

Other than Pearl Jam, who else is there?

You back vaping or what trag? I suspect that Rangi (and quite possibly Ridley) may well want to take to you with physical force on this matter.

<edit> Wait up - I missed the "egregiously so" in the thread title. You may be safe after all...

And what was Zappa's one hit? I like a lot of his stuff but can't think what his biggest hit was.

At a guess Valley Girl? Gag me with a spoon!

Crowded House did much better here in Canada. I wouldn't put them on this list.

I’m actually a fan of quite a bit of their music, but I’m fairly sure that they only had one hit in America. Different story in Canadia.

New Radicals - Get What You Give
Katrina & The Waves - Walking On Sunshine
Blur - Song 2
Violent Femmes - Blister In The Sun
Romantics - That What I Like About You
Autograph - Turn Up The Radio
Berlin - Metro
No way Violent Femmes are one hit wonders.
Yeah, they are more like no-hit wonders.

Blister in Sun wasn't even really played on "college radio" until a couple of years after their debut was released. I read somewhere that album didn't chart on the Billboard Top 200 until the '90s.

Is Gnarls Barkley a one-hit wonder? They're my vote if so -- both their albums are great.

I thought they had a few more significant hits up there. Superman’s Song?

They got played on the radio a lot because of Canadian content rules but I don't know if they actually sold albums to give them hits. What song was popular down there? My favourite was Peter Pumpkinhead but I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to it.

Mmmm Mmmm was a hit. That album has at least six songs better than that song. And I’m a big fan of Songs of the Unforgiven.

I think most one hit wonders are actually two hit wonders. There is usually that second single that has some success off the fumes of the real hit.
