Objectively, as a whole, it is bad/poorly made. It is not cohesive and many elements do not make sense. I do appreciate the sound, music, art, etc.VinylGuy wrote:yeah, overall if you didnt like the movie thats fine... but to say its a bad one, im not sure. People complaining about Binaural remind of of people complaining about Lebanese food. You could literally insert any words into this sentence and it will make as much sense.Leatherhead wrote:People complaining about TLJ remind me of people complaining about Binaural.

How come Kylo and gang can shoot through the resistance ship's shields and destroy the hangar bay and Poe's X-Wing AND the bridge? Do shields not exist in this movie?

Well, i agree with him that some storylines are not good. Everything makes sense? well i dont think so...but i also think the movie is really good when it get it right, and i can overlook the bad stuff.Strat wrote:Ugh. No. Its not objectively bad. With a little effort and thought, you will come tot he conclusion that everything (within reason its a fucking movie) makes sense and ties into the star wars universe.VinylGuy wrote:Well, i agree with him that some storylines are not good. I wasn't saying it would be better if Abrams made it, I said everything would have been different. It feels random and made up on the spot.Leatherhead wrote:tree_ wrote:The main thing is this: It's unfocused, as if a drunk were behind the wheel. Watch the documentary on it. Rian's knowledge and depth and passion for the characters of star wars story is incredible. Nothing about it is made up on the spot.tree_ wrote:I wasn't saying it would be better if Abrams made it, I said everything would have been different. Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi
The 'it's a fucking movie' argument is the worst. The movie exists within a universe in which there is a set rules that must make sense to the audience. You can't just go breaking rules willy nilly because you want specific things to happen. Things must make sense or else the movie is bullshit.Strat wrote:With a little effort and thought, you will come tot he conclusion that everything (within reason its a fucking movie) makes sense and ties into the star wars universe.VinylGuy wrote:Well, i agree with him that some storylines are not good. It is most definitely made up on the spot. The overall character arcs have changed in his hands from what they were going to be in the hands of Abrams or anyone else.Strat wrote:Watch the documentary on it. 1) You have no idea what Abrams arc was going to be
2) They were in discussions withe achother about it
3) the arcs aren't fucking over
4)it wasn't made up on the spot and a comment like that makes it clear you are just footering about here.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi
By saying it was made up on the spot I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt because that at least gives them an excuse for making such a shitty movie. If the character arcs/story line on display in this movie were planned from the beginning and thought to make sense or lead somewhere interesting, I'd be tempted to believe the writer(s) are mentally deficient.

So, when we meet Rose, we're seeing a character we've never seen before mourn another character (her sister) we've only seen once and neither have had any dialogue... and we didn't get to see Luke mourn the death of Han. Interesting choice.

Finn said he thought tracking through hyperspace was impossible. He later says he used to mop the breaker room with the tracker on Snoke's ship, which means he knew about the tracker.... hmmm

I think the thing that blows my mind the most about this conversation (and the last five or six pages) is that so many of you are actually entertaining tree's trolling. He's obviously just trying to get a rise out of you guys. He's painting by numbers. He's literally rehashing every single asinine point the internet has come up with over the last year. He's clearly playing you guys.
Don't get upset. Don't even engage. Just let him post until he gets bored and moves on.
