These aren't luke, leia's, or Han's movies. Those already happened. They are there to serve the new characters of which many of you dont like. So i get the internal struggle here
I liked the potential of the new characters in TFA but they are treated so poorly in this movie. How does Rey even know how to swim? Almost everything is too easy for her. It seems her only real struggle is not knowing who her parents are. Finn rejoices at needlessly trashing a casino in which innocent people may have been harmed and slaves will probably be forced to clean up. He's too stupid to realize that. Poe is still kinda cool, I guess. We all know Rose is one of the worst characters of all time.
This makes you sound like a 14 year old. Come on. Stop.
Seriously? She lived her whole life in the desert. It'd be fun to see her struggling to figure out how to swim or struggling with anything else, for that matter.
C'mon on man. This is why i can't take you seriously.
If you can't take me seriously because of THIS of all things... I don't think I can take you seriously.
Swimming. Really? You need some dialogue or some sort of backstory on how Rey learned to swim? Dude.
No... just doesn't make sense how EVERYTHING is easy for her. It'd make for an interesting/funny moment if she at least was like.. hmm... how do I do this... and struggled to swim a little bit. There are many missed opportunities in this movie and this is one small example.

Misogyny ahoy.

You didn’t complain how han gets off Mimban and suddenly is an expert pilot despite us never having seen him in a ship never mind piloting one.

*amd somehow he can speak to a wookiee without us ever having seen him on duolingo
Haha misogyny? Really? Her sex has nothing to do with it. We weren't told that Han spent his entire life scrapping/selling parts in a desert. That's a different thing. He could've been doing anything in the past for all we know.

But you’re ok with luke having superpowers overnight in a new hope.

Yeah. Misogyny
Wow. First of all, we're not even talking about that movie and I never said I was OK with it. But yeah, that's explained. The force was with him and he was taught to harness it... and Luke struggles quite a bit in those movies. Not everything is easy for him. It'd make for a better movie to see Rey struggle to swim. Can't deny it.

Luke goes through a massive development and buildup compared to Rey.

Bullshit. Luke hears about the force about 25 minutes Into a new hope.

Rey doesn’t hear about it until an hour into the movie.

Luke gets on and off-screen TRAINING in the force from a JEDI. Rey gets zero... and nobody taught her to swim.

Why do you need everything spelled out for you in a movie? You are trolling now. She was dropped off on jakku at a young age. Maybe she learned to swim prior from her parents or wherever she was. Use some critical thinking.

Can we not just accept that these have turned into superhero movies where characters have powers for no other reason than the plot requires it?

How did anakin expertly know how to fly his podracers and all the other shit he was able to do as an annoying toddler.

This is fine in the star wars universe. Its not out of line for what has been established in the universe. Obviously rey was born with special powers. Again, this is not new in the star wars universe.
