Last time I was in New York there were shops every few feet. And each one had a neon sign in the window proclaiming that they had the best pizza in New York.
Best pizza in all New York?? For a dollar a slice??
Slice my salami I’m in!!
I tried many.
They lied to me.
New York doesn’t have the best pizza anywhere outside a garbage bin.

Chicago all the way.
Calibrate your enthusiasm

That's because most of those aren't the best. If you go to places that cost more, you'll get a better pizza. A dollar hamburger from McDonald's isn't going to be the best burger...

also great is this place: http://www.sanmatteonyc.com

although would consider it more italians who are in new york than it being ‘NYC pizza’
