Also, I can't believe none of you, not one of you, gave me props for calling the Leia thing just like 5 hours before they announced it. :shake:

We all knew / hoped there’d have to be a showdown with Leia and kylo.

Then she died.

Props to you for calling it! Even if I don’t remember it
You don't remember it?! This is from 11:18 EST yesterday:

Nah she’s dead. Unless!!! She’s never shown but spoken of as reestablishing the republic in a different part of the galaxy and she’s handed command of the military arm of the republic (the resistance) over to Poe. And Lando.

People are gonna be furious. No matter what.

Writing her out in the crawl is the most obvious option. Her death galvanises resistance against the first order all over the galaxy.

There’ll still be people complaining but that’s the least bad option.
Well.... we still dont know HOW they are going to use these scenes. They might fit in with the story moving forward or they could be utilized as flashbacks somehow. My guess is she will be dead but will still be utilized to a large extent in the movie via storytelling of the past.

I can't imagine them having filmed scenes that would make sense chronologically.

weirdo cgi is gonna be involved somehow, guys. announcing she's in the movie is just the first step to ease everyone into it. her daughter/estate is getting their bag of money, anything goes.

Yea this is unfortunate. That character has far more potential. This is one concern with JJ is that he'll throw everything from the last jedi out the window and ignore all of the cool aspects. I know this also might be exciting for some.

Anywho, Benicio needs to be back.

There’s people out there that say he didn’t survive the Holdo maneuver. Everything in that hangar he Finn and rose are in gets blown up. Finn and rose only survive cos they’re lyin down on the floor when the blast happens. Phasma gets blown out and comes back in with only two or three troops when there was an entire squad of what looks like hundreds there to see the traitor executed.

I dunno. I liked the character but kinda hated his portrayal. The twitch/stutter thing was overplayed and annoying.

I don’t think we’re only going to see her as a hologram transmission but it’s possible. Lucas in the prequels was able to literally cut characters digitally and paste them into different seats and Fuck me if it isn’t flawlessly done. You only know about it when you see the scenes involved in that making of doco. So they’re able to do this stuff.

Best thing about it as someone pointed out, they can’t kill her now. It would be a totally bad Buzz. She will at least have a happy ending.

This could work and also bring Ezra into it. Teaching Rey maybe?

I doubt they are going to introduce any new "major" characters in the last film of the saga, though

well, this is the end of the skywalker saga. So you might plant seeds for the further adventures of Rey, Finn, and Poe that have nothing to do with Luke and Kylo

I'm sure Grant will be playing some kind of First Order officer. Maybe a rival to Hux? Or maybe a henchman to Hux? Who knows, but I'm sure it'll be that.

Or a new droid.

Do you think they will continue with those guys? I think Daisy Ridley is kinda done with this movies.

I don't think they'll continue right away. Daisy will want a break. She's already talked about that. But I do think they'll WANT to continue those characters, yes. I think they'll give it 10 or 15 years. In between they'll have the new TV shows for the streaming service, the Rian Johnson Trilogy, the Benioff/Weiss series of films, Obi-Wan (maybe), Boba Fett (maybe), and whatever ever other spin-off type stuff they want to do.

Then after all of that and some time has passed, they'll approach Daisy and Oscar and John again and see if they'd want to do another movie or three.

Watched to PT this weekend and really attention. He totally brings in in that scene arresting Palpatine ‘I need him!’ Luke he’s completely upset and actually acting. Found a whole new appreciation for the pt but Anakin especially finished Thrawn Alliances and having watched them again. Gonna jump into Clone wars soon.

I do think Thrawn would be a interesting character if viewed as a thread to connect to Rain Johnson's trilogy.

But that trilogy is supposedly nothing but new characters which is pretty bold and a part of me doubts that Disney would do that.

Plus I think it was rumored that his trilogy would take place long ago, well before the Skywalker sagas

I thought it was rather strange that they announced the cast for this movie. Is that out of the ordinary? If so, i wonder if being so forthcoming about it is due in part to the drama surrounding the last jedi. Putting it out there that Luke will be back, Lando will make an appearance, and Princess Leia being utilized - to maybe help those fans that wanted death and destruction for TLJ come back around a bit.

Maybe, I'm really curious to see how much they do to placate the fans who disliked the Last Jedi.

Sort of was unusual but a solid move to stop speculation and click bait bullshit.

Question is who hasn’t jj told us about. You know he’s holding back on someone
