But they have set up a cutaway and then not had one to show. So the character was left looking around and saying, "We don't have a clip? I thought we had a clip." That kind of thing.elliseamos wrote:i can't remember, but have they had an episodes where instead of cutaways they just had everybody standing there while peter daydreamed?durdencommatyler wrote:I don't know if it's a reference, but if it is, it sounds a lot more Simpsons than Family Guy, to me. I can't believe Doug likes Family Guy. The rest of you I believe.

Finally got around to watching the first two episodes of Netflix's House of Cards. I really like it so far.

The dialog is sound, the directing good, and the acting superb...I do wish the base characterizations weren't so generic.durdencommatyler wrote:Finally got around to watching the first two episodes of Netflix's House of Cards. I really like it so far.
I was just forced to watch the first two episodes of Falling Skies. Jesus Christ, what a piece of crap.

Breaking Bad. Well, that's over now. But that's what I watched. Now I'm back on House of Cards on Netflix.

Re: What are you currently watching on TV?
Anyone watch Larry David's Clear History, his HBO movie? I DVR'd it but don't know when I'll get a chance to see it.
Update: It's okay. It has some very Larry David-y scenes and dialogue. It gets better in the second half as the web of a plotline starts to tangle but the payoff in the end isn't as grand as I had hoped. A few laughs in an otherwise forgettable tv movie.

Im okay with doug on this. Family guy is a show that entertains me when it's on. I never go out of my way to watch it, and the jokes are very rarely memorable or anything more than slapstick. But that doesn't mean it cant be funny in any given moment.

No, you're right. The fact that Seth MacFarlane has the comic sensibility of a middle-schooler with herpes is what means it can't be funny at any given moment.@SkitchP wrote:doug rr wrote:yep, not gonna lietheplatypus wrote:I can't believe Doug likes Family Guy. The rest of you I believe.
