IF you’re interested in screenwriting or film at all, the above interview with Rian is an amazing listen. It’s not all last Jedi he’s talking about the craft and decisions you make and creating arcs while writing a film.

Such a worthwhile listen despite the boys interviewing him geeking out a bit here and there (everywhere)

No worries at all. Yourself and stip were front of my mind when I heard it.

And he goes into the ‘controversial’ descisions but also about the process from hiring to watching TFA dailies all that stuff you’ve heard but so much more detailed.

The alternative idea for Rey in the cave... FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK I wish they’d done that

This was a great listen. Thanks again, Dave, for the heads up.

I love his explanation about the Holdo maneuver. He's totally right that there's no great, easy, way to get into that explanation. But I love that he even thought about it. The fact that he considered it at all is what I love so much about his work on this film.

I love him. You can clearly see he writes out every possible option and really explores each one before choosing. He’s coearly a fan.

Know that line from rose everybody hates? Don’t fight what you hate save what you love?

It’s actually a quote from Irvin kershner in an interview he gave about Empire way way back.

Johnson does his fucking homework. More than most writers/directors I can think of.

Look who I got :) Can’t wait to watch TFA and TLJ with this fella. He reacts and does all the noises and movements BB8 does in the film. How the Fuck they did this is beyond me. He’s also got a holoprojector and you can control him with the force band or leave him and he wanders round autonomously beeping and humming to himself:)

I have one of these - my daughter loves it and always chases after it to give BB8 a hug.

Also watched TLJ again over the weekend - yeah, this film is pretty great with some great scenes......still has its problems though

As to BB8 I didnt think this through. At all.
It’s beyond hyperactive, my dog wants to kill it. I can’t figire out the force link thing.

Should have just gotten the R2

Watched this for the first time since January last night. The ending made the wife & I both get pretty teary. I like the movie, have plenty of issues with it throughout, but think Johnson really nailed the ending.

I was reading book 1 of the Ms. Marvel thing (it's in a collection that I'll post a pic of) and there's a part of it that stuck out to me. Kamalais talking to Captain Marvel about wanting to be a superhero and Captain Marvel says, "It is not going to turn out the way you think."

Has anyone watched TLJ with the commentary on?
It’s great. I prefer JJ’s commentary for TFA. It’s kind of a lot more about the story and decisions he made but Rians is great too I think.

I was referring to the Luke/Kylo/Leia/Rey ending on Crait as being almost perfect.

Broom boy was a nice little tag I guess.
