This is an interesting anecdote about 'lost' music and it made me think about Pearl Jam and how there are songs that we know exist but have never heard and might never. Of course it's easier to archive stuff now with digital files instead of racks of tape so the possibility of it being lost is a lot smaller but it's still there, just for different reasons.

Take it with a grain of salt. Most artists are clueless retards when it comes to archiving and keeping track of their own stuff. The demo reel that Stevie Nicks was talking about has been heavily bootlegged since the 80's and is probably sitting on a shelf in her living room. If she got off her ass and released it....
