it’s a fine song to f*nger oneself to alone but has no place in the live catalogue
Satriani is way more embarrassing than "Pilate"

I bet people that don't like Pilate think that the people that do like Pilate are hipster jerks.

Maybe some, yeah. But not me. As someone who has been accused of being a hipster jerk, I would never assume to call anyone else that just for not liking a song. I happen to love Pilate, but it's totally cool if you (or others) don't. I mean, Jesus, I hate Habit, for crying out loud. And you'd be hard pressed to find a less supported opinion on RM.

You’re damn right I’m quoting myself:
Bammer wrote:Yield - in my circle anyway - signaled the end of the bandwagon Pearl Jam fan. No Code was “weird” compared to the first three records which the whole world loved. I feel like people gave No Code a pass, and waited to see if the next record would be another Ten. It wasn’t.

When Yield came out, you either knew you were locked in as a Pearl Jam fan for life, or you moved on to the next thing...

I’ve posted about this before, but the song Pilate embodied this for me. I love this record, of course. Half my friends suffered through me playing a song like Pilate and decided PJ was old news. On to the next thing. See ya, suckas!

Nah. Insert Binaural in place of Yield, and I agree. Yeah, Yield has Pilate and Push Me, Pull Me, but I think it’s otherwise the most accessible record in their catalogue.
