Rebel Rebel, cool. I've always wanted them to try out some Bowie.

What a night!! My seats fucking sucked considering my Ten Club number though. Think a lot of Ticketmaster presale tix got better seats. But oh well.

- Rebel, Rebel was a lot of fucking fun. Happy to see them pull one out of their ass like that.
- As trag noted, the opening run was absolutely killer. They really sustained the energy and played 'em tight.
- Then it started to sag a bit until the encores.
- They should only play the first minute of Can't Deny Me and then stop. Once that chorus kicks in, you can feel the air deflating out of the entire place. They've gotta notice this, right?
- SOLAT into Breath was a nice treat.
- Ed really goes to another place when singing Missing. Gets super into it.
- Speaking of Ed, i can't tell you how many people mentioned to me, "He's not drinking!" No wine that I could see. Was he drinking in Seattle or Missoula? Inquiring alcoholics want to know!
- The vibe around me was really good fan-wise. No douchebag bros ruining the experience. Seemed like there were a lot more women at this one.
- Won't Back Down gave me chills. Can't believe Petty is fucking dead and I'll never get to see the Heartbreakers again.
- Not a big Know Your Rights fan. Killed the vibe a bit but then they really took it up a notch with DTE, Alone and RVM. Was happy to see DTE towards the end of the set instead of the front.
- That moment with the dad and his son was incredible.

Can't wait til Monday... until it fucking thunderstorms all fucking night and they cancel the show.

He drank less in Europe. He didn't seem to get drunk in Prague and Krakow.
He stays sober for his solo shows and his increased focus and concentration leads to less flubs. I wish he would quit drinking at PJ shows too.

Now that this out of the way (god bless the person who thought to put fatty back bacon on a cheeseburger), what should I do the rest of my trip?
take an architectural boat tour on the river. but avoid the lakefront tomorrow and sunday -- the air and water show is going on and the mass of people will be unbearable.
this is great advice.

otherwise it's a big-ass city and depends on your interests.

Timed my tour to when the thunderbirds were over the city... pretty bad ass sight. Poor tour guide was really good (probably studied architecture at the college level, she knew her shit) but everyone ignored her when the jets came racing above the buildings.

I went on a tour too with the planes overhead yesterday. It was really cool.

I think this is a steamy pile of ... or maybe I didnt see what I thought I saw.

My memory was Dennis said something to the effect of - everyone else was giving me hell and you guys were the only ones who stuck with me. I didnt know if he meant PJ fans or Chicago residents. I know the phrase is taboo around here, but this is fake news!

Does the 'Consequence of Sound' guy post here? What's his RM user name?

I knew three first-timers in the same boat and they loved it.

That could have been us. My buddy just looked at the wrong email, we got in fine.

I've never been more proud to see the amount of woman(and hot) and non-white men(and also hot) at the show.

I'm assuming tonight will be the usual demographic. Ugly, white dudes getting drenched.

I haven’t seen the band in 9 years.

This was my 13th show, and I thought the band sounded pretty fantastic. I really enjoyed the set. Sure I would’ve hoped for more songs I wanted to hear, but there were quite a few great moments.

All the Ten b-sides were cool to hear. Present Tense was great.

It was just a great vibe in the outdoors at that field, perfect weather. And some grade A medical all night with no worries. Beautiful.

The weather was absolutely perfect. I agree. Very fun vibe to the whole show, while remaining tight musically.
