I feel like I'm starting to feel my age. This summer is fucking killing me.

Re: The Running Thread
The consensus around here is that it's been an especially brutal summer for running. Just unrelentingly hot and humid.

Yep. You either have to get up really early (hate), or at the end of the day when your body is winding down. It's going to be low 90s here this weekend...

Re: The Running Thread
We've had waaaaaay more humidity this summer.
It's already 85 to 90 at 6 a.m. here. When it's bone dry, that's doable.
Add humidity and it's just fucking torture on my 45-year-old body.

I'll tell you one thing: this humidity has been hell on my nipples. I have to either go shirtless or pre-bandage them.

I just put some Body Glide on them if I know I'm going to keep my shirt on the whole time. I had a really nice Tracksmith tank on last night and had to get rid of it by mile 7 or so because it was soaked.

One out of every 6 times or so that I log in to Strava on the desktop site I get a picture of a sexy sports lady wearing a sports bra with her hair tied up. You can't see her face but from the back she reminds me of Evangeline Lily. I think I'm falling in love with her.

Re: The Running Thread
Would you guys (not you verb) recommend running stoned?

Blacked out at the shoe store last night and woke up with a pair of Hoka Challengers next to me...

I guess I don't have any concept of what good trail shoes are and I know Hoka is popular with those folks.

Re: The Running Thread
I'm not a fan of Hokas in general, but I do have a pair of Challenger ATRs that I'll occasionally wear. I got them for like $50 at a running store that was closing.

Why do I feel like verb's about to knock me out of the top* spot with a 19 miler.

I'm supposed to go 20 today but it's been unbearably humid so I'm going on the treadmill in an hour or so. We'll see how it goes.

Re: The Running Thread
It isn't a distance I want to ever do on a treadmill again. Mind numbingly boring and just an overall swampy and miserable experience.
