Kind of the same: I've been getting into jazz lately and the Aphex Twin / User18081971 Soundcloud tracks.

That said I can't go all-out noise. There's a limit to what I can listen to and Merzbow - to pull an example - is at the edge. Hell, even some Aphex Twin is too much for me. Though oddly Ventolin is a standout track so I don't have a clue.

yeah exact same. i hate the noise stuff. i find absolutely zero pleasure or fun in those bands/songs

i'm more into slow ambient, drone, dark jazz, minimal electronic soundscapes

The key to enjoying noise is to just let it happen to you. Like a spicy pepper or a cold shower. Don't resist it. Let the pain and discomfort consume you.

You'll emerge stronger and more in tune with the melody of the universe humming all around you.

most of the stuff i listen to these days is instrumental only. Sometimes they sneak a vocalist in and I'm like "wtf i ain't got time for this yapping get that shit out of here"

I probably listen to more jazz than anything these days, but lyrics are still important to me when present.

I know, right, it's so disruptive.

Almost invariably some boring dude moaning about one thing or another.

Joe's love of "Kind of Blue" is well-documented, I think.
