I like some MCR songs, they had a really good sense of drama and melody. They're one of the bands I appreciate now more than I did when they were around. I really fucking hated them when I was a teen.

But yeah, I'm voting for "Drain the Blood" too. "Black Parade" is a good song but not their best.

i never heard of the Distillers before today, but that singer is really putting their heart into it.
MCR is right up there with the Decemberists as one of the worst bands I've ever heard in my life

I first heard Distillers on a Hellcat compilation called Give 'Em the Boot. Hellcat was the record label (or, I guess, Epitaph offshoot) owned by Tim Armstrong of Rancid. Brody Dalle from the Distillers used to be married to Tim but then cheated on him with Josh Homme, which inspired the Rancid song "Fall Back Down" (also in this tournament).

That Distillers song isn’t great but holy fuck do I hate MCR. Easy vote for the former.

I just tried listening to these two songs and I’m already exhausted. I hate this music so much. I don’t know if I can do this.

I don't hate MCR at all. They have some songs I really like. But I absolutely love Brody Dalle. I'll be voting for this song until it loses (which hopefully isn't right away).

Not a fan of MCR with the exception of this song. But I love this one. Easily one of the highlights of emo or whatever it is.

Listening to "Black Parade" now I'm just struck by how pretentious it is. There are some good melodies here but they repeat them to death. Why does it need to be so long? Why does the song have like 5 climaxes? I kind of respect how they went all-out with the excess and the bombast, but it's exhausting as a listening experience
