The call and response to this song is one of the worst things they've done

Re: Song of the Moment: Corduroy
I heard a boot this year where they did the call and response on Not for You and it was even worse.
I agree it's bad. It ruins the best part of the song.
Although even before the singalong his melody change on "everything has chains" is one of my least favorite in the catalog. It's so weird how Eddie does his live versions but eventually the melody change becomes the new melody because he does it every time. There's tons of examples in the catalog but that one is one of my least favorite
Also not a big fan of changing I'll/I to We'll/We
And I also hate "peace man!"

Re: Song of the Moment: Corduroy
I really don't know what's worse. The call and response on Corduroy, or the fact that nearly every crowd has to sing along to the guitar solo in Do The Evolution now.
It was cool one time.

We've been complaining about the call and response before you made your post, dime. It seems to be a consensus opinion, but yeah, fuck us because we disagree with youdimejinky99 wrote:Can’t even say you love a song without a deluge of manbaby complaining. Fuck the internet

The worst was getting this with the call and response as the show opener at MSG a couple of years ago. So awkward.

they should do a live show consisting entirely of call and response songs

And then classic rock staples like Baba o Riley, Rockin in the Free World, I Love Rock and Roll, Rock and Roll All Nite, and Centerfold. Then end with Dont Stop Believing.96583UP wrote:they should do a live show consisting entirely of call and response songs

Re: Song of the Moment: Corduroy
Just looked up the clip on youtube and am sad to report that Eddie is still doing call and response on this tour.
I hate that he is ruining the best part of the song and has been doing it for years.

I didn't mind it as much at this show given they went straight into Go and then proceeded to play all of Vs.E.H. Ruddock wrote:Yeah, they opened Greenville with it as wellEJ wrote:The worst was getting this with the call and response as the show opener at MSG a couple of years ago. So awkward.

Dear Mr Wotman
You may be reading this. Please for the love of all that’s holy- tell Ed to stop this ridiculousness during Corduroy. He listens to you. It undermines an otherwise great song. It is literally the worst thing about Pearl Jam since Future Days. You know I’m right. Please convince Ed to stop.
Thanks

Corduroy is hands down the ultimate Pearl Jam song.
I’m not saying this because Vitalogy is my number 1 album but this song encapsulates everything I love about Pearl Jam.

If you had to give somebody one song to sum up Pearl Jam, this one would do the trick.Gigalogy84 wrote:Corduroy is hands down the ultimate Pearl Jam song.

Pearl Jam blocks it but it’s worth the click.

We’ll end up alone like we began.”
