Re: College Football
Why is it just the B1G? To be a football coach is to be a piece of shit. It's universal.

Man, this Ohio State story gets weirder by the day. It’s a soap opera or tele novella.
All of this related to forced amateurism of the labor in huge money sports.

Re: College Football
Depends on how deep they are digging really. The public knowledge on this story has been absurd in the last two weeks especially with everyone digging into the shady nonsense at Florida and they could probably go back to Utah and Bowling Green really. The oddest thing in the world is that this freaking WR's coach who was born in the right family could stick around this long and make $315000 a year because of this bullshit system. Now we're hearing from the "Estranged" Mother... the WR coach in this sense has already been on a press blitz, UM has done his own pretty light mea culpa because everyone knows he lied now...verb_to_trust wrote:Shouldn't their "investigation" be over soon?
Where does this leave Gene Smith?
I mean the last time we did this at tOSU, Gordon Gee ended up at WVU, Tressel at Youngstown State
Do we really get to blame the AD when he doesn't really get to make the decisions? (not meant to throw shade at tOSU I realize this happens all over... but this is crazy)

Re: College Football
So, while everyone knew that Zach Smith had some kind of violent relationship with his wife since 2009 when he was af Florida and everyone knew that there was an incident again in 2015 for some reason the police did nothing so, there was no conspiracy to keep Zach Smith employees as a WRs coach.
Ok.
Yeah I understand the deliberation because I don’t understand their reasoning either, but I get that the man at the top has a big contract and there hasn’t been a conviction so there’s that.
I’ll be interested to see what other stories come out now.
I still don’t get keeping the guy (Smith) around.
I think Ohio State did an ok job here considering their on the hook for 38 million and the main goal is keeping their star coach in town. personally I think Urban comes off looking like Roger Clemens here.

Smith 2015 performance review areas to work on: personal matters. He also turned in a $600 expense receipt for a strip club when he was at Florida. Lol

The next player that gets suspended 4 games for selling their own jersey should sue the NCAA for Urban Meyer's salary.

Oh, yes, I understand you're an alumnus that graduated from our school and you threw one pass your entire time here in action for our school, and we want to show our appreciation by not allowing you to go to a school of your choice even though you earned it, because.... you might beat us somewhere else.
The collegiate equivalent of Jose Urena throwing a baseball at someone because they are good at baseball.
Nevermind that the most productive form of QB recruiting at LSU is finding one that someone else developed.

It's gonna be ugly. Unless it is Drew Lock's moment of greatness. That would be something.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:October 13th, sonMonkey_Driven wrote:I can't wait to watch every game of a 6-6 season.
