I think it might be my favorite punk album too. But I hardly listen to a lot of the stuff.

Re: Flavor of the Weak vs. Time Bomb
You guys mean strictly pop punk albums right?
I mean And Out Come The Wolves is great but it isn’t even my favorite Rancid album. Nothing of Rancid’s would even be in the same realm as old Dead Kennedys or Misfits or Black Flag albums though, at least in my opinion.

Re: Flavor of the Weak vs. Time Bomb
Black Flag without Henry Rollins kind of sucked. Actually mostly sucked.

I don't like any of those bands, and actively dislike the Misfits. Just not my thing.

The Exploited are definitely my favorite punk band. Angry and energetic, of course, but always careful to craft exciting, memorable melodies and experiment with their sound and production in interesting ways.

I’ve never heard any Rancid before and if their other stuff sounds anything like this, I fucking hate them

Rancid is great. Flavor of... is nicely nostalgic without being annoying as fuck, but unfortunately I must vote against.

Re: Flavor of the Weak vs. Time Bomb
I'd probably peg the top 3 as Wolves, Rancid (1993) and Let's Go. The new album is actually pretty good too. They kind of fell of my radar for a while after Indestructible but the new one is definitely worth checking out if you haven't.Joesanity wrote:Top 5 Rancid albums

My favorite Rancid song might be "Antennas" from the 2000 album. I love the contrast between the punky verses and spacious, melodic choruses -- all in 1.5 minutes or less!

Re: Flavor of the Weak vs. Time Bomb
I'm surprised by this. I would imagine that 2000 album would be completely outside your sphere of interest. That's pretty much a straight-up hardcore album.Kevin Davis wrote:My favorite Rancid song might be "Antennas" from the 2000 album. I liked the new one a lot. I was ready to give up on them after Honor, but the most recent one redeemed them.mf wrote:I'd probably peg the top 3 as Wolves, Rancid (1993) and Let's Go.
