Also remember: this tournament also includes ska, which "Santeria" vaguely resembles at points

Even being loose with terminology I don't see how Santeria is a punk song. If anything it sounds like Red Hot Chili Peppers.

You could say this about a bunch of crappy songs, for what it's worth.

But I like "Santeria". People diss it too much.

I'm not voting for Santeria for the same reason I didn't vote for Incubus in the Nu Metal tournament.

One thing this tournament has brought to light is that you don't really know what ska is

If you wanna go by wikipedia definitions, go look at the genre classification under the article on "Santeria"

I will say that "Santeria" is way closer to ska than "What I Got"

There's pre-reggae ska (old-school Jamaican stuff, like Lord Tanamo), then Two-tone ska from the 70s (think The Specials), and then the 90s ska revival which fused it with pop-punk: your Less Than Jakes, your Reel Big Fishes. Sublime were part of this third wave, but songs like "What I Got" and "Santeria" aren't what I would call examples of that sound.
