Re: Post Random Music-Related Thoughts You Have
Horrible new Muse song sounds like a mix between Keane's "Everybody's Changing", The Police's "I'll Be Watching You", and Christina Aguilera's "Genie in a Bottle"

I wouldn't say that I love Muse, but I do like their first few records. They have some great stuff.

Also... listening to In The Wee Small Hours on vinyl and I'm struck by how truly gorgeous this record is all over again.

Also, what genre would "Time" by Nancy Sinatra and "Blue Moon" as performed by Elvis be considered? Because I've been in that kind of listening mood lately. I feel like I should be in a desert bungalow in Needles, CA with no air conditioning and curtains waiting for a breeze when I listen to music like that. And I fucking love it

If so, that's what is known as "horse folk".

M. Ward has a more modern feel though. Part of the allure of these for me is that I want to listen to them on a shitty record player with that echoey mono sound.theplatypus wrote:How about "Eyes on the Prize" by M. Ward?E.H. Ruddock wrote:Haha yeah maybe

I just created a station on Spotify based on "Time" and so far I mostly like it. Some of it is too upbeat though

Re: Post Random Music-Related Thoughts You Have
Oh man, you're forgetting "Where Are You?" and "No One Cares" -- equally great and equally sad-sacky! I assumed this newly expanded group of works would be called a "pentalogy," so I Googled the word, and lo and behold, I was right.theplatypus wrote:I like the Sad Sack Sinatra trilogy of In The Wee Small Hours, Only the Lonely, and Watertowndurdencommatyler wrote:Also... listening to In The Wee Small Hours on vinyl and I'm struck by how truly gorgeous this record is all over again.
Then I got to thinking that my all-time favorite Sinatra album, "September of My Years," would fit into this group of records too. I assumed this would make it a "sexalogy." I got some different results when I Googled that one.
