It sounds so fucking good and warm. I think I have a weird torrent version or something because the tracks were in an unfamiliar order. I loved the order they're in on the vinyl I have. So solid and pleasant.
I have the cd of that. Need to listen to it more often.
At night. With a small pour of your favorite adult beverage... :nice:

I absolutely love "Bawlers," it's insane the number of amazing songs he had that didn't make it onto his albums. "Never Let Go?" Come on now!
"Ill fall from your grace, but ill never let go of your hand"

Fuck. That line gets me every time. Weepy chills, really.

Fannin Street, Little Drop of Poison, Shiny Things, and The Fall of Troy are all worth mentioning here, too. Fucking brilliant tracks.

"World Keeps Turning" -- one of those songs, like "Take It With Me," that some days I feel like I just can't handle.

Kevin Davis wrote:If I had a ticket to fulfill the old "go back in time to attend one concert of your choosing" fantasy, I think I could do worse than this Tom Waits New Year's Eve show from 1988, with an insane setlist featuring 32 songs including covers by the Doors, Little Willie John, Sinatra, Elvis, and The Pogues (or whoever wrote "Dirty Old Town"). Failing that, though, this pretty awesome recording is hitting the spot today:

If you're trying to come up with the best tracks from Orphans, just post the entire tracklist and call it a day.

Off the top of my head, my Orphans top 10 would look something like:

Buzz Fledderjohn
Rains on Me
2:19
Road to Peace
Never Let Go
Shiny Things
Lucinda
Fannin Street
Long Way Home
Little Drop of Poison

No kidding. BAM is the only new Tom Waits album to drop since I became a fan. I've only gotten to experience to sheer joy of anticipation and ultimate release of a new Tom Waits record once. And I'm thankful for that. But man, I want that feeling again.

Wait... 7 years between Bone Machine and Mule Variations (I know The Black Rider but that doesn't count and even if it does that still means a 6 year gap). And 7 years between Real Gone and Bad As Me.

Maybe we get a new soon?! Eh?! EH?!!!!
