Re: The Running Thread
I literally would rather kill myself than run on a treadmill for more than an hour.

Re: The Running Thread
My legs are shot right now. Maybe it's time to start breaking in a new pair of Bostons.

Re: The Running Thread
That's not it! I remember when my last pair of 6s did this too. They were the awesome creamsicle colorway so I held on a couple hundred more miles than I should have. It's funny how running shoes can still look good but at a certain point they are toast regardless.

Robs taking it easy this week. I think I have a shot at the top spot.

Re: The Running Thread
I set a new distance record today. 15km. It was a good run too. I stuck to natural terrain as much as possible and it worked out a lot of tension in my legs.

Nice job dev.
I think the crown is yours this week, verb. I might run a little after work tonight but then I'm probably done til Monday.

Re: The Running Thread
My hamstring continues to give me trouble on hard surfaces.
I thought I'd be able to hit 10 miles on this morning's canal run, but it twinged at 8 1/2 miles and I shut it down.
Frustrating as hell.

Re: The Running Thread
My basement flooded this weekend due to the non stop rain. Lost two days due to virtually no window for outdoor runs and moving the treadmill. Ugh.

Slipped into the new Boston 7s. Man, what a difference. I chewed up the last pair pretty good but the colors were so vibrant it was hard to tell. Maybe had 7 or 8 hundred on them?

Yeah, I'm a big fan of my Boston's now. They are kind of for pussies but whatever. So comfy.

Sorry about your basement, verb. That sucks. It's been pouring here lately but nothing like what southern WI and northern IL have been getting.

Picking a 50K plan that peaks in a month where either I or my wife are out of town basically every weekend was not the best idea I've ever had.

Re: The Running Thread
My soon to be wife just started a new job and has some concerns about our honeymoon plans in October. I told her we would just plan on something when she feels settled in and comfortable taking the time off. I want to be supportive. So Mt Desert Island will not be my first marathon. It looks like I could do Madison in November but I don't know if that will be grand enough to waste my marathon bullet on. Maybe I should just take the training I did this year and apply it to a plan for Chicago next year.

That's a bummer. Isn't the Twin Cities marathon that same weekend?

Re: The Running Thread
I cracked 20 a few times this summer and am a lot more fit as a runner than I was last year. Now I know I can do it and when the time does come to bust my cherry I will be even stronger.
