Blood and Leash should both be retired from the live set.

Leash has never been good with Matt C. Awful, really.Monkey_Driven wrote:Blood and Leash should both be retired from the live set.
Blood is still great. The band is super intense and even though Ed can't scream like that, the song still manages that same intensity due to the great playing by the group. I enjoy hearing it.

I don't mind Blood as a song or modern performances, it needs to be retired due to the strain on Ed's voice for the rest of the show.Strat wrote:Leash has never been good with Matt C. Awful, really.Monkey_Driven wrote:Blood and Leash should both be retired from the live set.

Love Blood but I wouldn't mind not seeing it again tbh. He just can't do it. Same with Comatose

More disorganized thoughts about the show (based on memory):
Black had a nice long electrified Mike guitar outro, and I would have been fine with that but the crowd wanted some "do do do's" so Ed got on the mic and steered it instead into some nice vocal tags. So the whole song was pretty long (in a good way).
I didn't think the Porch jam really worked.
By some miracle, they played Tremor Christ excellently and it sounded good in the venue.
I really like Taillights Fade, and it matches Pearl Jam, so it was a good cover choice and enjoyable for me. I didn't realize until afterwards that Buffalo Tom played that show in the club next to Fenway that was part of that story Ed told in 2016 about sneaking into the park. I just thought Ed was being forgetful and re-telling that same story.
The first encore "break" seemed like it was about 30 seconds long.

All the people here at Woody’s Grill and Tap loved this show. Might we be wrong?

Is it fair to say it is unreasonable of the fans to have such high expectations? Yes, but at the same time PJ set it up.
These multiple shows in just a few cities, complete with travel packages in $300-$600 per night hotel rooms, and the rare ballpark events pushing $150 per ticket also contribute to high expectations. People spent a shit ton of money on these shows.
I know I did, but quite frankly, having never been out west.... I viewed the shows as something else fun I did on vacation. The shows paled in comparison to seeing the waterfalls in Portland, hiking Mt Hood, hiking Mount Rainier, touring Seattle, hiking Glacier National Park.... Seattle 1, Seattle 2 and Missoula never even had a chance competing against those. However, others traveled just for the shows and it puts a whole new level of importance of those shows on them.
Two shows in a location with a day off gives the band ample of time to settle in, plan and practice.
