I had never listened to it before, but I've been playing the heck of the EP the last couple days. It's oddly warm and welcoming for a math-rock album, especially this track, while maintaining those zany, angular playing and time-signatures.Teeeeeekay wrote:Whoah. A Piglet appearance.chewm wrote:

Re: Now Playing
That album has stuck with me since my college daze. I actually picked up the vinyl version a little while back.
I caught these guys live live once and it truly was a treat to watch them play.

Re: Now Playing
Love all the Monk/Rollins stuff -- I have the Monk Prestige box set that has all that material on it, it's a treasure.
If you're interested in some Sonny beyond the classic period, I can't recommend the live album "G-Man" from 1986 enough -- funky, melodic, with Sonny on fire and some great electric bass playing.

Loading Zones? Or another new one?Strat wrote:new Kurt Vile track is up and it is tasty.
Loading Zones has a distinctly Diamond Sea feel to the intro. I'd almost say it's a blatant rip-off, but it works well for the song. I like the way Kurt Vile's songs song.

Re: Now Playing
I was driving today and this song came on. I did a quick shazam because I've heard it a few times before and never got who sung it. When the result came up I was like, nah, that can't be right. That's not what I've ever thought the band was like. So I get home and huh, so it is. So I'm diving deep into the catalog because I obviously had the band figured wrong.
And I gotta say that voice coming from that dude with that mustache is wild.
