Re: Sorrow vs. Someday I Suppose
I like "Sorrow" a lot. I like that it's about the Book of Job, the uplifting nature of the lyrics, the harmonies in the chorus, and the way the guitar solo kicks in. Like a lot of Bad Religion stuff, it's pretty much a folk song disguised under power chords and distortion. I also dig that those guys were all considerably older than everybody else in this tournament when this came out, so watching a bunch of punk rock dads rock out in the music video is a nice change.

Both of these are pretty good. Tough choice.

Re: Sorrow vs. Someday I Suppose
"Sorrow"s verses remind me a little bit of Billy Joel's "Shes Always a Woman", which can only mean certain victory in my books.

Is this the only Bad Religion song in the tourney?

Re: Sorrow vs. Someday I Suppose
Was it an issue of relative popularity of their songs compared to others in the tourney, or that they were usually more punk than pop punk?theplatypus wrote:Yes4/5 wrote:Is this the only Bad Religion song in the tourney?

I think it's their most popular and poppiest single from that era. "American Jesus" would've also worked but it came out before our 1994 starting date.

Yeah definitely "Infected", which I didn't even think of. "A Walk" maybe... anyway, thanks for nominating them in our Suggestions thread that was open for like a month, Jammer

To be fair, Bad Religion isn’t what comes to mind when I hear pop punk.
