Observing this tourney and listening to a few clips made me realize something: this era represents my "get off my lawn" moment. The era when, back in probably 1999 I drew a line in the sand and said everything that came before this is good, but this and everything that comes after is at best suspect.

Nu metal, for all its flaws, overlapped enough with alt-rock/grunge/whatever that even though I didn't like 90% of it, I could understand why people did.

This stuff, though...other than a couple Green Day and JEW songs, it's just shit. Musically, aesthetically, lyrically...pure shit. Music shouldn't be able to make me as angry as that Vandals video did.
